Booker T. completes undefeated regular season after win over Edison

Booker T. Washington enters Saturday’s game against Edison without a few of its offensive starters, including All-Star quarterback Maurice Alexander.  The Tornadoes needed an answer to their problems and found it in running back Mark Walton and the entire defensive core.

Walton was unstoppable on the ground, gaining 142 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.  This helped relieve the pressure from the rest of the offense which committed a total of four turnovers.

Meanwhile, the defense was stunning, allowing only 18 total yards and one first down from Edison.  James King even returned a 30-yard interception to get the defense contributing to the scoreboard.

By the end of the game, Washington out did the Red Raiders 38-0.

The Tornadoes have now amassed 36 consecutive wins.  For the second consecutive season, Washington closes out the regular season undefeated at 10-0.  On top of that, this win secures yet another District 8-4A title.

Currently the highest ranked team in Florida, Booker T. ranks 3rd in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings.

With next week off, Booker T. Washington begins its playoff campaign on November 13 against Pembroke Pines Somerset at Traz Powell Stadium.

Player of the Game:
