Washington’s Treon Harris shines again

Out of Miami, Booker T. Washington has had a tremendous 12-0 season thus far, earning the #1 rank by DigitalSports both in Florida and in the nation.

The Tornadoes most recent challenge came against University High School, ranked 65th nationally and 8th in Florida, in the regional finals.  After taking a 21-3 first half, Washington ended the game leading 45-17.

In only his second game back from a month-long ankle injury, Treon Harris led the Tornadoes in an incredible performance.  The all-star quarterback completed 11 of 17 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.  Keeping the ball in his own hands, Harris had 22 carries for 143 yards and three more scores.  All in all, Harris accounted for 384 total yards and all six of Booker T.’s touchdowns.

Building off Harris’ leadership, Mark Walton carried the ball 17 times for 140 yards.  The sophomore also connected with Harris for one of his three touchdown passes on a 19 yard score.

Advancing to the state semifinals, Washington prepares to face off against Cocoa High School.  The two teams meet on November 29 at 7:30p.
