After sitting the bench for more than a month due to an ankle injury, Booker T. Washington’s Treon Harris stepped back on the field for the Tornadoes’ first playoff game against Belle Glades Central.
Wasting no time to get things started, Harris came in for Washington’s second drive, leading the Tornadoes to a touchdown in just four passes. That was the first of the senior All-American’s two touchdowns as he led Booker T. to a 40-18 victory.
Harris left the game during the third quarter completing 7 of 17 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Hitting Terrawn McPhee for a 38-yard touchdown and Shaquille Green for an 8-yard score, Harris built a 33-2 lead for Washington by the half.
On the ground, Mark Walton found the endzone twice, leading the Tornadoes strong running back core. Tevin Evans scored Washington’s only second half touchdown on an interception return, putting the Tornadoes out of the Raiders’ reaches.
Advancing to the Regional Finals, Booker T. Washington prepares for their next match against University High School, last year’s Class 3A state champions. University currently sits at 29th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings.
Washington, at 1st both in Florida and nationally, have the advantage heading into the matchup, but it certainly will not be an easy game for the Tornadoes. With Treon Harris back to lead them, Booker T. Washington looks to extend their playoff run.
