Perfection was the only word to describe Booker T. Washington on Friday in their game against Edison. Their perfect game, a shutout, ended 62-0 for the Tornadoes. Their perfect regular season put Washington undefeated at 10-0. Booker T. has earned their position at #1 in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings.
As usual, Washington jumped out to a huge start against the Red Raiders. Taking a 41-0 lead into the half, the Tornadoes continued cruising to a 62 point game, their season high.
Thanks to the Washington’s early scoring, many of the team’s second and third strings were given the opportunity to show what they could do. They did not disappoint.
Backup quarterback Malik Atkins completed four of five passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. Third-string Jaime Taylor added on 59 yards and another score while completing three of four passes.
Trawone Johnson, Washington’s third string running back, picked up 28 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.
All the while, Booker T.’s defense stonewalled Edison, not allowing any form of momentum to build up for the Red Raiders.
With the regular season now behind them, Booker T. Washington prepare for the playoffs. The Tornadoes look to continue to impress on the national scale.
