The booker T. Washington Tornados traveled to Miami Central Friday afternoon for a show down Traz Powell Stadium with a soldout crowd of 7,500 crazed fans.

Coming into the game Miami central has not lost to a fellow Miami Dade County School since 2008, so the victory is definitely one to remember.  This will definitely be the case for Junior LB/DB Terry Jefferson.

Although his name may not have been the highlight going into game day, Terry Jefferson made one of the biggest plays to finish out the game, solidifying Booker T. Washingtons #1 rank on the Digital Sports National Football Rankings.

Jefferson in the final 10 seconds of the game came up big with a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown nabbing a 28-17 victory for the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes over the Miami Central Rockets before a sold-out crowd of 7,500 at Traz Powell Stadium.

Booker T.  Washington, now (2-0) and #1 Ranked team in the nation, fought hard to overcome a deficit for most of the game.

Trailing 17-7 in the third quarter, Treon Harris tied the score in the third quarter when he connected with Deltron Hopkins on a 59-yard touchdown pass. Making the score 17-14 heading into the fourth.

Again, Harris led another offensive assault on the Rockets defense on a 3-yard touchdown run.

The Tornadoes face Miami Carol City on Wednesday at Traz Powell and still have another game with national attention Oct. 4 when they travel to Las Vegas to play Bishop Gorman High in a game that will be televised on ESPN.

Key Players:

Treon Harris– 12-17 for 129yds passing, 2 TD, 1 Rushing TD

Terry Jefferson– 1 Int, 1 TD
